Founded in Montréal in 1977, Brador Fabrics is a family-run Canadian company and the exclusive distributor of authentic, Canadian-made Commander® fabric in Canada.
Our Story
Brador Fabrics began as a manufacturer and designer of cross-country skiwear — one of the first Canadian companies to craft outerwear purpose-built for extreme cold. Our LUPA label remains active to this day, producing quality neck warmers and headbands designed for the Canadian winter. Alongside LUPA, the BRADOR label laid the foundation for the textile expertise that defines us today.
Over the decades spent in garment manufacturing, we saw a consistent gap: makers, Indigenous artists, and communities across Canada lacked reliable access to ethically-sourced, high-quality textiles and trimmings. We repurposed our deep knowledge of fabric and construction toward what our customers needed most — a trusted wholesale supplier that truly understands the craft and the climate.
Today, Brador Fabrics distributes a vast range of fabrics, furs, linings, performance laminates, and accessories across North America — serving large outerwear manufacturers, individual artists, and everyone in between.
We are the exclusive Canadian distributor of authentic, Canadian-made Commander® — engineered to perform in Canada's extreme cold, available in over 100 colours and exclusive designs.
